In hotel is available to our guest an ski school office for information and reservations.The School Ski Pontresina Sports offers lessons in alpine skiing, cross country skiing, snowboarding, telemarking, etc..

All group classes Alpine Ski leave the hotel and come back with the teachers.Transfers take place with the  mini shuttle school or with the Engadin bus .

The ski schools for beginners are at the heart of the country just a few minutes from the hotel and easily accessible also by non-skiers.

Pontresina is a picturesque village in Upper Engadin, 5km from St. Moritz.
The village, while preserving its architectural and cultural traditions, is modern and always attentive to new trends in snow sports. Its strategic location makes it a popular holiday destination for those who want to enjoy the typical features of the mountains, with impressive landscapes and grand Swiss glaciers.
The Schloss Wellness and Family Hotel (recently renovated) is an imposing castle fortress from the late nineteenth century, whose walls rise above the Engadine village. From the  windows you can enjoy a magnificent view over the Roseg valley and the stunning glaciers of the Bernina range.
The hotel is run by an Italian team, which ensures attentive and friendly hospitality.
The hotel offers a variety of services for skiing: ski rental, ski pass sales and ski school reservations.
The cross-country ski trails start right under the hotel, while the St. Moritz ski resort can be reached by ski bus in a few minutes.

Rooms

The hotel is a recently restored imposing castle, with 140 fully renovated rooms, most of which offer magnificent views over the Roseg Valley and the stunning glaciers of the Bernina range. All rooms have private facilities, mini-bar, telephone and television.
Larger families can choose from four-bed rooms consisting of one bedroom and a bathroom, or more comfortable rooms with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The hotel also features   “Suites” for two people, consisting of a living room and master bedroom with a breathtaking, 300º view over the Roseg mountain chain.
The price of the Suite includes room cleaning, water and soft drinks from the mini-bar, a daily newspaper in the room, breakfast and dinner at no extra charge at the "Julier" à la carte restaurant (drinks are not included) and free entrance to the Wellness Centre (reservation required at reception).

 

Restaurant and Bar

The dining rooms with buffet service offer dishes and specialities that combine typical food and tradition, lightness and taste.
New Year's Eve menu with wine and sparkling wine at midnight included.
At an extra cost, guests can enjoy table service at the à la carte restaurant "Julier": international cuisine and traditional dishes of the Engadine. (service included for guests staying in suites).

 

Wellness Centre

The brand new, modern 750sqm Wellness Centre overlooks the Roseg Valley:
guests can enjoy a mini relaxation pool, steam bath, Mediterranean bath, bio sauna, Finnish sauna, frigidarium, water paradise, cold shower and summer storm.
In addition, at the Treatment Centre, which is connected to the Wellness Centre, you will find innovative beauty techniques, while discovering a wonderful feeling of well-being: therapists and beauticians will guide you through the knowledge of treatments, from the East to the West, to actively explore the world of wellness (entrance fee and reservation required).

Finally, our guests can enjoy a fully renovated  swimming pool, with panoramic windows facing the Roseg Valley (free entrance, reservation required).

 

Entertainment

Looking for some fun?
The sparkling TI-TRIBE entertainment team is ready to help.
During the day they will be on the slopes with skiers, as well as with those who stay at the hotel, with games, entertainment and moments to learn and try out Engadine traditions and its typical products.
But also tastings, stories and fascinating "workshops" to explore the riches and curiosities of this land, including sweet surprises. Evenings are livened up by mini piano bar concerts, theme parties and games in the theatre or in other rooms of the hotel. At the same time, films are played on a large screen.

 

Entertainment for children

The Birba Club is available to children aged 4-12 years in brand new and well-equipped rooms of about 350sqm.  After the great success of the innovative “Birba Mountain” held in previous years, the 2011/12 programme will present “Future Champions 2012”, a new service including ski equipment and ski lessons by appointment.

For all children who want to learn how to ski or improve their technique, the hotel has teamed up with the Snow sports Ski School in Pontresina.

When you arrive in the afternoon, you can get detailed information about the courses and transportation by speaking directly with the instructors of the school at the office inside the hotel.

For beginners, the meeting with the ski school instructors is in the morning in the hotel lobby. Classes are held on the municipal slope "Alp Languard" in the town centre. The slope is divided into different sectors depending on level of ability. Beginners who also want to ski in the afternoon must have lunch with their instructors at the mountain restaurants affiliated with the school, buying the special meal voucher at the ski school. Those who only follow morning lessons can have lunch at the restaurant, with the assistance of organisers, buying the special meal voucher at the hotel.
For advanced skiers the appointment is in front of the hotel, where the school's shuttle bus will stop and take the children to the ski slopes. Advanced skiers who also ski in the afternoon must have lunch with their instructors at a mountain restaurant affiliated with the school, buying the special meal voucher at the ski school.

 

At the end of the afternoon lessons all children will be taken back to the hotel, where they will find a tasty snack at the birba club.

 

Indicative timetables  and a typical week's programme

 

Timetables	Future Champions 2012 Programme for all levels of ability for children aged 4-12. Includes 4 hours of skiing per day for 5 days, ski and boot rental. Does not include the cost of the ski pass. (optional, minimum 4 participants, reservation needed, extra charge to be paid locally) Appointment at 8:45a.m. in the lobby for check-in. From 10:00a.m. to 12:00 noon: group ski lessons in groups of up to 12 children. Lessons will be held: for beginners at the municipal slope "Alp Languard" for advanced skiers at the slopes of the Corviglia, Corvatsch and Diavolezza ski resort. From 12:30p.m. to 1:00p.m. Lunch: Advanced skiers will have lunch at the affiliated mountain restaurants near the slopes, accompanied by their ski school instructors (meal voucher required for mountain restaurants, not included in the price) Beginners who have lessons only in the morning can have lunch at the hotel restaurant, with the assistance of entertainers (hotel meal voucher required, not included in the price) From 1.00p.m. to 3:00p.m.: Resumption of group lessons. Around 3:30p.m.: Back to the hotel accompanied by instructors.

For all children enrolled in the birba club there is a variety of opportunities to play in the large spaces available, equipped with: Game room: with foosball table, ping-pong and board games. Labyrinth gym: balls, exercise mats, chutes and ladders to move around and play together. Birba Movie: a real cinema, where children can not only watch cartoon classics but also documentaries with very high picture and sound quality. From 8:30p.m. to 10:30p.m.: guests gather to dance and sing, for a movie or a game together, but also to participate actively in the evening shows...
