We are in Pontresina, a typical village of the Alta Engadina, at 5 km from St. Moritz.
The hamlet, while maintaining its architectural and cultural traditions, has a youthful nature and is alway abreast of the latest trends in snow sports. Its strategic position has made it a sought after holiday destination for those who want to enjoy the mountains with their landscapes and the impressive Swiss glaciers.
The Schloss Wellness and Family Hotel (recently renovated) is an impressive late 19th century fortified castle, whose walls tower abve the village. From the windows you can admire the magnificent view of Val Roseg and the evocative glaciers of the Bernina range.
The Italian management guarantees an attentive and cordial welcome.
The hotel offers many services for skiers: ski hire, skipass sale, ski school booking.
The cross country pistes begin just outside the hotel, while the Saint Moritz skiing area can be reached in just a few minutes with the ski shuttle.
For children, families and beginners that want to ski we also have a members only mini piste with rope tow in the hotel park.

Rooms

The hotel has 135 rooms that have all undergone recent renovation and offer bathroom, minibar, telephone and TV.
For large families we have quadruple rooms in a single compartment with a bathroom, or the more comfortable double rooms with two compartments and two bathrooms. We also have "Superior rooms" for two that include a bedroom with a double bed and a lounge.

Restaurant and bar

There are two restaurants with buffet service that have a breathtaking view of the surrounding valleys and peaks. The dishes and specialities always match  distinctiveness and tradition, and are light and tasty.

Wellness Center

The brand new and modern 750 sq m Wellness Center looks over Val Roseg:
clients can use the: relaxation swimming pool, caldarium, mediterranean bath, bio-sauna, hanging relaxation, finnish sauna, frigidarium, wasser paradise, cold shower and summer storm.
In addition, at the adjacent Treatment Center, you can find innovative beauty techniques and great sensations that you will experience when you  meet the world of wellness: therapists and beauty specialists will bring clients to get to know the treatments, both from the east and the west, that will make you activley discover the world of well-being (entrance is at an extra charge and requires booking).

And lastly, for our clients, a completely renovated swimming pool, with large windows overlooking Val Roseg (entrance is free but booking is requested).

Entertainment

Do you want to enjoy yourself?
The lively Ti-Tribe entertainment team awaits you.
During the day they are together with the skiers on the pistes, and for those who stay  in the hotel they organize games, entertainment, "conversations" and "experiments" on Engadine traditions and products.
We also have food sampling, story telling and "labs" that will lead you to the discovery of the riches and curiosities of this land - including some sweet surprises. Evenings are enlivened by mini concerts at the piano bar, theme parties and board games in the theater or other halls in the hotel; at the same time we show movies on a mega screen.

Entertainment for children

Birba Club is for children from 4 to 12 years of age. We have a brand new and equipped 350 sq m premises. Following the great success of the innovative "Birba Mountain" in the past years, during 2009/10 we will present the new "Birba Mountain Little Champions 2010", with gear and ski lessons.

BIRBA MOUNTAIN is the new mini club format made to get children to discover all the fantastic opportunities that the mountain can offer: sports, laboratories, hikes, games …
All in complete safety, with qualified instructors, from Sunday to Friday!

A typical week's timetable

*Use of the gear is included in the "Birba Mountain School" fee.
*Ski and snow boot hire is included in the "Birba Mountain School" fee.
*Meal tickets are not included in the fee.

... For those who don't want to take part in the "Birba Mountain 2008-09" program the entertainment staff organizes games and recreational activities inside the new Birba Club.

From 3.30 pm to 7.00 pm:

after a restorative healthy snack following the afternoon activities, we divide into groups to try out all the opportunities that Birba Club has to offer:

Carpentry lab: originally for boys (but girls are invited too), in complete safety, with the aim of building wooden toys.

Costume and scenery lab: organized for girls but open to all "creative" people, the aim is to make a part of the costumes and scenery to be used in the evening shows.

Arcade: table-soccer, table-tennis and board games.

Labyrinth gym: rubber balls, mattresses, slides and staircases to move about and play together.

Birba racetrack: an electric track for unforgettable races at full speed, with no risks.

Birba Movie: a real cinema, where not only cartoon classics but also the most beautiful documentaries can be seen with high quality audio-video.

From 8.30 pm to 10.30 pm:

we get together to dance and sing, for a movie or a game, but above all to take an active part in the evening shows...
